This business had a number of loss making branches in the London area due to intense competition, poor sales growth and ineffective management. We worked with the company to design and implement a solution optimising and improving productivity in all branches in the region. A new productivity based incentive scheme was also implemented in all branches. The above measures led to a 20% improvement in productivity, 25% reduction in operating costs and a £1m saving to the client’s bottom line.

Management decision making at this business was ineffective and lagging behind it’s competitors due to delays in production of it’s management accounts and lack of useful key indicators for benchmarking performance. All reporting processes were reviewed and eliminated where they were found to be ineffective. Training was provided to all the members of the reporting team to enhance the speed with which accounts were produced. A new set of Key Performance Indicators were agreed with the Senior Management Team and a dashboard model set up track progress on a weekly basis. Financial reporting cycle was reduced from three days to one day. The new Dashboard has now become an integral part of management decision making.
Other Solutions Provided
We worked with this business network to set up a scorecard measuring and tracking key indicators for the business. The objective of this exercise was to provide senior management with first hand advance warnings of potential risk of failure at each of their branches.
Negotiated and secured the provision of a new cash collection procedure for all finance departments resulting in 40% reduction in cash processing costs and health and safety risks.
A review of all internal control procedures at this educational institution resulted in the introduction of tight financial controls leading to a 25% reduction in budget overspend.
